Plurima Mortis Imago

Just a little something I ended up doing with my new reference drawings for Jeanne. This are most of the outfits she'll end up wearing in the comic.

From left to right, we have:

1) Full kit, winter greatcoat and helmet, with Lebel 1886 8mm rifle. (Right out of basic training - note 1st model cartridge pouches and straps)

2) Regular trench attire, summer uniform, also with Lebel.

3) Light recon/trench raid clothing with 1896 Daudeteau carbine in 6.5 mm. Please note lack of entrenching tool and trench-knife replacing Lebel bayonet.

4) "Partisan" attire - uniform shirt & breeches with neckerchief tied on the arm for identification, captured Australian bandoleer, fur hat and Henry-Winchester Model 1894 lever action carbine in .303 British.

5) Scout. Hand painted oilskin coat over regular army uniform, sidecap, left cartridge pouch replaced with binocular case. Weapon is a scoped 1886 Lebel.

6) Officer (1st Lieutenant) uniform, with kepi and Lebel revolver M 1892 with lanyard. Note trench knife instead of sword and soft leather gloves. (French officers are required to wear gloves on all occasions)

The background is a "homage " to an earlier drawing (circa 2004) which also started life as a reference sketch.
