Riders on the sand

A Valentine's Day drawing I did for my girlfriend which is set in one of her worlds, a planet of sands and giant armoured Leopard Geckos being ridden as mounts.

The armour is based on both far-eastern and European styles and mixes laminar armour with leather and lamellar armour (in this case based heavily on the Japanese style known as "hon kozane") because, unlike a horse, a gecko lizard relies on it's flexibility for locomotion and thus requires a greater freedom of movement.
